  • Marissa Seymore

    Director

    Marissa has been dancing for 23 years and has been teaching for 14 years. She teaches all genres of dance, with specialty in Contemporary and Hip Hop. She has trained with Broadway Dance Center in NYC, Tremaine Dance Convention, Excel Dance Convention, Titans of Dance and many others. She has performed pre-game and halftime for the Atlanta Hawks. She has trained under many professional dancers such as Marty Dew, Jason Kalish, Alex Wong, Twitch, Fik-shun, Brian Henniger, Jamie Goodwin, Casey Noblett, Casie Goshow, Kent Boyd and many others. She performed at Disney in 2013. She has competed at many National and Regional competitions and holds many top awards and has received many scholarships. Marissa’s students have received many top place awards at competition, taken home many scholarships and moved on to professional dance careers. Marissa also works as a Registered Nurse. Outside of work she enjoys swimming, tanning, cooking and most importantly, spending time with her husband Evan and daughter Ryann.  She loves to watch her students grow in the their dance education and strives to help them achieve the best of their abilities. Marissa is so excited to share her knowledge and love for dance with her students. 

  • Sierra Reynolds

    Assistant Director

    Sierra has been dancing for over 12 years and teaching for 5 years. She has taught tumble, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and contemporary at various ages and levels.  She has been a competitive dancer and has won various awards.  Her passion is not only teaching but also choreographing routines for classes, solos, and small groups.  Sierra pushes her students to meet their potential.  This is her second year teaching at Voltage and she cannot wait to see what the students accomplish this season. 

  • Brandy Jones

    Tumble Director

    Brandy Jones was born and raised in Gilmer County. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 2004 then pursued a career in Bank Corporate Security and Compliance. She has 16 years of experience in cheerleading, both competition and sideline as well as tumbling. After her daughter showed interest in gymnastics and cheer at the age of three, she decided to start coaching cheerleading and that led to coaching tumble lessons. God continues to open doors and bless much more than words can describe. She is grateful to be a part of Voltage Dance Factory and can't wait to see each child develop new skills and become strong athletes.

INSTRUCTORS

  • Andrea Childers

    Andrea began her training at the age of 2 at Academy of Dance Arts. For over 24 years, she has taught many dancers of all ages and levels in many forms of dance, many whom have continued with professional dance careers. Andrea was awarded a ballet scholarship to attend Brenau University, where she majored in Dance Education and was invited to join the Gainesville Ballet. She ultimately received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Kennesaw State University, where she trained and performed with the Wings Dance Ensemble. Furthermore, she had trained with Broadway Dance Center, Studio 1, and Georgia Ballet, where she was invited to join the Georgia Ballet Company. Andrea is very excited to be teaching at Voltage Dance Factory!

  • Ella Collins

    Ella has been training in all dance genres for 12 years, but she specializes in acrobatics, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and technique.  Ella is a competitive dancer and has won multiple titles in the elite division at various competitions all over the Southeast.  She loves to teach, choreograph, and help others advance their dance training while sharing her passion.  Ella is enjoying being an instructor at The Voltage Dance Factory!

  • Kayla Mooney

    Kayla has been dancing for 11 years and started dancing competitively when she was 7. Kayla is teaching our Kinder Hip Hop and Beginner Hip Hop. Her favorite style of dance is hip hop and she loves teaching the younger ones. Kayla hopes to one day become a primary school teacher.

  • Anna Gunter

    Anna's passion for dance began at the age of three, and it has remained her passion ever since! She began her training under Kathy Thomas, Director of 'En Pointe School of Dance', at the satellite school 'Discipleship through Dance' in Maysville, GA. At the age of thirteen she was accepted into 'Praise in Motion', En Pointe's dance company in Lilburn, GA. Anna then moved her dance education to 'The Royal Dance Academy' in Suwanee, GA and spent four years training at a pre-professional level in their Conservatory Program. With this training, she completed the Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 levels of the Royal Acadamy of Dance's graded syllabus. She was selected out of over 300 dancers to be awarded a Rockette's Summer Intensive Scholarship at the dance competition NYCDA in 2014. Anna has been assisting and teaching her own classes, including ballet, pointe, tap, and contemporary since the age of seventeen. Anna's motto for dance has always been "You don't have to be the best dancer in the room, as long as you're trying your best to improve!". She tries to direct her dancers towards success, motivating them to accept that even on their "off days", growth can, and will, happen!

  • Mati Teague

    Hi everyone!! My name is Mati Teague & I am so excited to be back at Voltage this year teaching Advanced Hip Hop! I have been dancing for about 18 years! I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish at Young Harris College. I also teach Hip Hop at Stardance Performing Arts in Hayesville, NC. I have such a passion for teaching and Hip Hop, and I can’t wait to get back in the studio!!!

  • Lilly Kate Seay

    Lilly is a member of the VDT Company Lightning team where she performs and competes. Her passion for Tap shines and we have been so thankful to have her sharing her passion and love for Tap with our Voltage students. Lilly teaches our Beginner Tap!

  • Sophie Burnette

    Sophie has been dancing for 16 years and competed for 8 years. She also was apart of the inaugural Gilmer High School dance team. She is attending Young Harris College to get her degree in music education. This will be her 4th season teaching at Voltage. She will be teaching our intermediate hip hop and mommy and me classes this season. She is so excited to be back and cannot wait to see what this season holds for her and her sweet students!

  • Hannah Yaklin

    Hannah Yaklin is a teacher and performer who has been dancing for 18 years. Her performance credits include The Nutcracker of Cherokee County, Disney World, Balletfest Atlanta, Jazz on Tap, Zombiefest, Panoply Festival of the Arts, Riverfest and she was a student performer in Gotta Dance Atlanta Contemporary’s production of Surface. Hannah has performed in Six Flags Over Georgia’s Fright Fest, with a leading role in the production of CarnEvil, and Holiday In The Park. She also recently choreographed and danced in Young Atlas’s music video “The Dream”. Hannah has been teaching for 6 years and is passionate about inspiring and sharing her passion and love of dance to the next generation of dancers.

  • Kristen Carder

    Kristen is a member of the VDT Lightning team. She has been assisting multiple instructors in class and is becoming an excellent instructor herself. We are so thankful to have her in our Voltage Family

  • Savannah Sanders

    Savannah is a member of the VDT Lightning team. She assist in multiple classes, and works so well with the younger students. We are so thankful to have her in our Voltage Family

  • Emma Gibson

    Emma has been dancing with us for many years and has shined through in her ability to be a leader, even at a young age. She leads, guides and directs the younger students and they all look up to her. She assist in multiple classes and is such an asset to our Voltage Family.

  • Amy Sims

    (Guest Instructor)

    Amy is originally from Central Florida where she began dancing at the age of 3. When Amy was 16 years old, her dance teacher at the time, saw an untapped potential for leading and teaching others. It was then that she was asked to begin teaching dance classes for elementary to middle school children. This is where Amy’s passion for teaching came to life. By the time Amy was 18, a dear family member financed the opening of her own studio. This studio ran successfully for 15 years before moving to Georgia with her family in 2006. For her first two years in Georgia, Amy taught at a local studio before opening and operating her own from 2008-2018. Amy has led her students throughout the 30 years of teaching to perform with Ballet/Dance Companies in Florida and New York. She has received numerous awards at several competitions for her innovative choreography, as well as, leading her competitive teams to receive many high honor awards. Some of her students have gone on to perform in the Florida Citrus Bowl, the Gainesville Florida Ballet Company, as well as Disney parades. Amy has a passion for teaching dance and takes pride in the ability to teach all ages, styles, and techniques. Amy has trained in many avenues since a young age. She feels strongly that it is important to continue dance education while keeping the traditional values of dance alive. Amy has trained with DEA (Dance Educators of America) and legends such as Frank Hatchett, Rhee Gold, and many others over the years attending conventions and dance teacher seminars.
