CLASSES & DRESS CODE

  • Ballet/Pointe

    Strength, flexibility, terminology, and technique are all covered in this class. Dancers that truly want to progress in levels for various styles, will want to make sure to have 1 or more ballet classes on their schedule each week.

    Company Required class.

    Dress Code: Black Leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun, ballet and pointe shoes.

  • Pre Ballet

    Pre ballet is about inspiring creativity, teaches coordination, musicality, and introduces the fundamentals of ballet, while incorporating creative movement and tumbling. Students will develop strength, dance technique, rhythm, and body awareness in a caring, nurturing environment.

    Dress Code: Any color leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun, ballet shoes.

  • Contemporary

    A blend of several types of dance into its own unique style. It includes elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and even hip hop. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, total body connectivity, and creative problem solving.

    Company Required class.

    Dress Code: Dancers may wear leotards, leggings or tights, unitards, tight-fitting jazz pants, or tight fitting tops/crop tops. No loose fitting tops. Long hair should be worn up and out of the face. Dancers may go barefoot during class, but please bring “turners/half soles”, or contemporary socks for turning purposes.

  • Tumble

    Tumble classes are separated based on skill level. Students will focus on technique of skills and build on skills they already have learned to progress to the next level. Some of the skills are: Handstands, roll variations, bridges, back and front kick overs, tic tocs, cartwheels (one handed, switch cartwheels, aerials), round offs, back and front handsprings, and back tucks.

    Dress Code: Tight fitting clothing, tennis shoes. No jewelry, or any loose fitting attire of any kind is allowed for the safety of our students.

  • Jazz

    A combination of techniques including classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular dance. Classes include warm up, isolations, stretches, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. This class is for you if you like precision, rhythm, and personal style expression.

    Company required class.

    Dress Code: Dancers may wear leotards, leggings or tights, unitards, tight-fitting jazz pants, or tight fitting tops/crop tops. No loose filting tops. Jazz shoes. Long hair should be worn up and out of the face.

  • Tap

    Tap focuses on rhythms and patterns in footwork through proper technique, as well as personal style and producing clear sounds. Classes include a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm style. Tap is for dancers who like rhythm, precision footwork, and creative styling. You work on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

    Dress Code: Dancers may wear leotards, leggings or tights, unitards, tight-fitting jazz pants, or tight fitting tops/crop tops. No loose fitting tops. Tap shoes. Long hair should be worn up and out of the face.

  • Hip Hop

    Class includes warm up, moving across the floor, style explorations (popping, locking, waving, gliding, etc.), and freestyle. These classes are for dancers who like self-expression, and physical challenges. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, precision and creativity, and find your own style.

    Dress Code: Dancers may wear leotards, leggings or tights, unitards, tight-fitting jazz pants, t-shirts or crop tops, sweat pants, tennis shoes or jazz shoes. Long hair should be worn up and out of the face.

  • Acro/Flex/Technique

    Turns, tricks, leaps, flexibility, as well as overall strength and conditioning are covered. Recommended for those with goals to progress more quickly.

    Company required class.

    Dress Code: Black leotard, or black tank top, leggings, tights if desired. Tight clothing, nothing loose fitting. Sweatshirts/jackets and sweatpants may only be worn for the first 10 minutes of class for warm up. Bring all shoes to this class.
