VDT Dance Company

At Voltage Dance Company, our Company dancers are committed to advancing their training through focused, high-level instruction in all genres of dance, as well as tumble and acro. Company members train at a level far beyond recreational classes, preparing dancers for collegiate, professional, and career opportunities within the dance industry.

Audition-Based Program

Placement on the Company team is determined through annual auditions. All dancers — including returning Company members — are required to audition each season. This ensures that every dancer is placed in an environment that challenges and supports their growth.

Elite Training Opportunities

Company dancers receive intensive technical and performance training throughout the season while working closely with our experienced faculty and guest artists from around the world. Dancers participate in:

• Weekly advanced technique classes

• Specialized tumble and acro training

• Professional choreography and rehearsal processes

• Guest artist master classes

• Convention and intensive experiences

• College and career preparation opportunities

Each summer, dancers begin the season with our VDT Intensive Week, an immersive training experience featuring guest instructors in multiple dance styles while learning choreography for the upcoming competitive season.

Competitions & Conventions

Our Company dancers attend regional and national competitions and conventions each season, where they perform for professional judges and receive valuable critiques designed to strengthen their technique, artistry, and stage presence.

Over the years, VDT dancers have earned:

• Title placements

• Scholarships and convention opportunities

In addition to competitive success, Voltage Dance Company has proudly received the Studio Spirit Award and Sportsmanship Award every season for the past three years — a reflection of the positive attitude, teamwork, professionalism, and encouragement our dancers bring both on and off the stage.

Performance & Community Involvement

Company dancers proudly represent VDT throughout the community by participating in performances and local events such as:

• Light Up Ellijay

• Apple Festival Parade

• Annual Christmas Parade

• School and community events throughout Gilmer and Fannin Counties

In addition to performing, our dancers are encouraged to give back through volunteer appearances at:

• Assisted living facilities

• Nursing homes

• Churches

• Community outreach events

• Local school programs

Preparing Dancers for the Future

At VDT, we believe dance builds discipline, confidence, leadership, and lifelong opportunity. Company dancers have the chance to attend college dance clinics, conventions, and professional preparation workshops that help them navigate auditions, interviews, and future career pathways.
